May 18, 2015 6:52 PM in response to Dave Marshby Dave Marsh,I should note that my stand counter did show some very faded blue columns (besides the one black column) during the afternoon, which make me wonder whether this isn't an all or nothing chart. Bright blue apparently indicates adequate activity, faded blue indicates the watch noted some activity, but not enough to count. Black indicates no activity noted during that hour. Anyway, that's my take at the moment.

May 18, 2015 7:07 PM in response to Dave Marshby yndara,Yes, what I've noticed is that black columns are hours where I wasn't wearing the watch at all, like at night when I take it off to charge. Faded blue columns are hours I wore the watch but didn't get the stand credit. Bright blue are hours I got credit for.

May 19, 2015 9:32 AM in response to c59885illby josekimber1,I have tried this today and it does seem to work for me too - I get credit quite quickly, whereas previously I could run around for several minutes and it did not seem to notice! I'm still puzzled as to why, though, it would tell me to stand up at 12.50 when I was standing in the kitchen making lunch! That was yesterday before I tried c59885ill's solution, so will have to see if that happens again.

May 19, 2015 3:07 PM in response to josekimber1by josekimber1,The update 1.01 is now out and it says it has bug fixes including improvements to the Stand app. I have just downloaded it and it will be interesting to see whether it makes a difference.

Jun 29, 2015 9:43 AM in response to Littlegibboby jwcnyc,Set the "wrist detection" to on in Apple Watch settings on iPhone. I had the same problem but this did the trick. Setting the "wrist detection" on doesn't mean that the watch will activate upon wrist raise (which is what I thought). Hope this works for people.

Jul 29, 2015 7:19 PM in response to Littlegibboby jforget1,I am in the same boat here. Sometimes it works great, other times it does not register movement that should count. I just had it happen now. Got the alert at 9:50, was up and walking around at 9:51 and walked outside, out into my garage and all around for 9 minutes and it never registered a stand for the 9:00 hour. I am trying to get the all 3 completed for 7 days and I will be annoyed if the stand throws it off.

Aug 1, 2015 4:01 PM in response to c59885illby cybergeeksis ,Well, here's the thing... I was sitting in the loo at 11.45 pm with only 1 more hour needed to complete my stand goal and therefore complete all 3 circles.. I had tried standing, walking and even running up and down the stairs earlier before I gave in and thought to check on here.... Long story short - while reading the rest of this thread I let my arm hang at my side and then swung it forward and back for a minute.. Lo and behold, I was rewarded with that sweet musical notification that indicated that my stand goal had been reached! Result!

Sep 5, 2015 3:49 PM in response to Littlegibboby Jeremy Krall1,I just happened across something today that let me get stand credit, without standing. I was on a road trip and my warning went off. I didn't worry about it since I knew I wasn't going to be stopping anytime soon. A few minutes later I dropped my hand down to my thigh and wiped it forward and backward to dry it. I was surprised to get the ding and message that I got my stand credit. Later in the drive when I got another stand warning I intentionally rubbed my hand against my hand on my thigh and got credit again!
Now I can't recommend this as a way to cheat the system but if your watch isn't giving you credit that you should get you might want to give it a try.

Jan 26, 2016 2:58 PM in response to Littlegibboby Wrevo,One solution I found was you go to workout in the Apple Watch app and make sure it says the metric is turned on, I did this and it gave me a stand notification Right away.

Feb 13, 2016 8:40 AM in response to c59885illby julie78787,OMG! I've been going INSANE over the entire "Stand" issue and I don't want to do any of the "cheats" (like, rubbing the back of your calf up and down while seated on a plane ...). But I tried walking around the house for a minute with nothing in my hands, left arm by my side, and I got a "stand" credit.
Normally when the "alarm" goes of I get up and move all the dirty dishes in my office to the kitchen, get a drink, do some cleaning up, but mostly, my left arm (I'm a lefty ...) is horizontal to the ground. It's like the Watch detects that your arm is vertical and ... BAM! credit!
