Sorry to hear that you are having issues with installing the latest version of iTunes. I understand that you have done a lot of research into this, but was curious if when you tried to launch the iTunes installer file did you right click and Run as Administrator? Try that and some of the other steps, if needed, in the article below.

May 2, 2015 12:41 PM in response to norm123by amr1119,I also tried temporarily deactivating security software, clearing browser cache and uninstalling all Apple installations (iTunes, Bonjour, etc.). I'm really stumped and I know computers fairly well.

At that point I would recommend contacting Apple Support for further assistance. There could be something else that we could be missing and a hands on approach may be the next best thing.
