Q: Preview rotating markup content when saving PDF + deleting the markup content - Yosemite 10.10.3

Has anyone noticed the new preview is so full of bugs since 10.10.3?? I am pulling handfuls of my hair out with this.  I work on a lot of multi-page PDFs - typically architectural plans and use the "mark-up" tools in Preview to feedback to my colleagues what needs correcting or changing.  It is very similar to printing and using a red pen to mark up and make notes...except it does not require a tree to be cut down to do it.  Anyway, it is (was) a really handy tool.  Now in the latest OS update, Preview crashes a lot and it does this weird thing where it rotates the text and graphics 90° when saving.  Certain things like freehand "squiggles" will rotate on the spot as soon as you let up on the mouse button! It also will delete some of the images in the save.  I have attached a couple screen shots to show it.

If no one knows how to deal with this, any recommendation of another "markup" program that works with multiple graphic formats and allows for simple markup on top of the document would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Sour Apple!

So i had the same thing, when exporting an image file in preview to PDF and it would rotate it. I think i found a workaround that worked for my image.

I did File > Export > Format: PDF > uncheck Alpha.

At least on my single image test this worked. Doing it just from Export to PDF rotated the image, but doing as above did not.

I still have this issue after updating to El Capitan. My workaround was to export as a jpeg and then back to pdf. Not a very elegant solution, but it worked for the one page I needed to fax.
