How to use air play with IPad and apple tv

I Am having trouble using Ipad and air play on Apple TV. All software is up to date. Any suggestions?

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.1

Hi Update your software to ios 8.3 Then go to control panel also make sure air play is ticked on iPad & apple TV Cheers Brian

If on wifi try connecting Apple TV via Ethernet
