10.8.5 Server to 10.10 Server. What will disappear?
I am still running 10.8.5 with Server 2.x (and 10.9 clients). I am planning to upgrade to 10.10 with Server 4 soon (and 10.10 clients). Given that for instance Workgroup Manager disappears, I wonder what functionality I will be losing. Not just because of the loss of Workgroup Manager (where I have several groups of users and machines configured). I also run my own certification authority for the systems under my control. And I use mobile accounts with portable home directories (poorly though that functions these days).
I was burned pretty hard when I upgraded from 10.6 Server to 10.8 with Server, especially with DNS choices. I am running a split DNS for a couple of domains. I recall that the initial configuration questions were directed to simpler installations (one system using an ISP). I recall the issue was the name of the server servername.domain.tld versus domain.tld.
Anyway, as part of the preparations, I was wondering which functionalities I will be losing when moving from 10.8.5 Server 2 to 10.10 Server 4
