Q: Connected to Wifi and send texts

I have an iPhone with a plan with Bell. My plan only gives me 250 texts per month. If I am connected to Wifi and send texts, will it use up some of the 250?

iPhone 3G, iOS 6.1.3

Yes, because texts do not use cellular data OR WiFi. They go over the voice sidechannel. That's why you can send texts to dumb phones.

The exception is iMessage. If you enable it you can send iMessages to other iPhone/iPad users without using your text allotment.
