I too am having the exact issue.  I have found several reasons for my machine to be running hot as I task it hard every day, but even when I am just browsing and the temp and fan speed (monitoring through SMC Fan Control) go nuts... 150F and 6200 rpm (full speed fans) for minutes at a time.

I can understand if I am rendering 1080p video, using After Effects with dozens of layers, etc... but this happen just using Photoshop on light jobs, using Muse on simple websites.  Activity monitor shows my CPU is under 5-10% usage at all times and still the temp goes up and the fans go full speed, sometime non-stop until I exit all programs and let it cool down.  This is unacceptable.

I have posted a detailed reply to another person having the same issue here... please read all I have researched and found, but still nothing stops these darn fans from running all the time at 3000-6000rpm

    Fan running constantly and loudly

Apple, please help!  My machine is brand new, the battery life ***** because of this issue (it happen on and off battery power) and I know this machine will not last long under these types of conditions.  I just spent over 3K on a new machine and it appears to want to explode by just using it...***???  Please fix this KNOWN ISSUE and stop trying to tell us to reset the SMC and zap the PRam... been there and done that over and over... it does nothing.

+1 to this answer, not something I would have ever thought to check, but straight after clearing the pending job, the fans started to slow down and are now silent.

    Bravo.
