Fan Loud Noise

Hi everyone. This is going to be my first question.

Macbook pro 13', late 2013

2.4 GHz i5

8GB DDR3 1600MHz

works very smooth and perfectly, but sometimes the Fans start making a loud noise for just browsing some websites like (mirror.uk, facebook.com(just watching videos) and many others). Google Chrome is what I am using and I have the "AdBlock" extension on.

During the incident I realized that due to the high rpm of the Fan, the Air comes out through that edge which LDC and Keyboard are attached.

However I close those website pages right after the noise starts, and sooner later the sound is gone.

in my opinion this isn't kind of normal since i don't put pressure on processor as much as it can't be handle ( its not even close to that)

Any suggestions or Ideas I would be appreciate

thank you for your time.

You may try a SMC reset:

The fan responds to heat which is generated by resource hungry applications. What your MBP is doing may very well be 'normal'.

If you install iStat menus:

http://bjango.com/mac/istatmenus/

and set Activity Monitor to ALL PROCESSES and CPU to display valued from high to low, you then can determine the applications that are responsible for heat generation. Google Chrome and its parts often is one of them as well as video.

Ciao.

Funnily enough, this is exactly what I am getting. Additionally rubbish battery life.

Took my first laptop back, which just wasn't running right.

This second one is better, but getting the fan going nuts, then once off those troublesome sites, it goes back to normal.

Booked an appointment at the store, it was insinuated that it was my use and that was the reason the fans were going crazy (6000rpm+) and the battery was around 2.5 hours.

Considering the number of macs I have had (over 15) and my technical knowledge (been in IT for over 12 years) I was rather disappointed to hear what I was told.

My previous MBP didn't have these issues, unless doing video encoding.

The other MBP I bought the same day for my business partner doesn't have the same issue and yet, he uses it more extensively, I do everything through a browser, he uses illustrator / photoshop and everything else.

Doing a reset didn't work, OS re-install didn't work, testing it on another profile didn't fix the issue.

What was the outcome for you in the end?

Many thanks
