Q: Shipping Info for the UK?

HI all,

As most of the responses on the main "Shipping" thread appear to be from folks in the UK I thought it might be useful to have a separate one for those of us in the UK.   I only ordered my SS 42mm Blue Milanese Loop on Launch Day (24th) so I'm still Processing, and not really expecting a delivery for some time yet (my estimate is "June"), but I wondered how deliveries/shipping was going for others over here...  Anyone from the UK actually received theirs yeT for example?

thanks for any info

The most significantly delayed Apple Watches are apparently Apple’s Stainless Steel Case with Link Bracelet models ($949-$1,099), Stainless Steel Case with Leather Loop models ($699 each), and Stainless Steel Case with Modern Buckle models ($749 each), which do not appear to have shipped at all.

Yeah that's exactly what we've all been suspecting, too bad my SS WITH BRIGHT BLUE LEATHER LOOP  is in that category, looks like I could be seeing the "Processing" for quite some time yet

Does the phrase "More money than sense" mean anything to you?

ACtually Im thinking that if youre one of those Elite Apple customers who can afford the Edition then maybe you get some kind of special deal where you just return the gold case do that it can have future versions of the Watch fitted into it to replace the existing obsolete one?

OK, so Beyonce's got an Elite model.  QED!!

    Hi,

I pre-ordered my Apple Watch, Black Leather Loop, 42MM on April 10. My estimated shipping date in the UK is May 27 - June 9.

I don't think anybody said pre-ordering meant you would get a watch on release day. The release day was the day watches were launched in the stores, but only for demo.

It would be impossible for Apple to promise a 14 day lead time no matter how many orders they got, for a brand new product. Nobody knew what the demand would be or what the production problems might be.

In the lead up to the release it was made clear that Apple didn't want queues at the stores and people going away empty handed. I didn't get any impression pre-orders would all be filled on 24 April, far from it.

I had 12 may to 26 May and got my Grey Sport Black Band on 5 May.

Incidentally... for the people checking their order status... I got an email from Apple before I saw my status change, so I would relax and wait for the email.

Also, regarding payment timing, my credit card was charged on delivery day.

If preordering doesn't mean you get it on release, what's the point in preordering at all? They might as well have put them in stores on 10th, then made them available for ordering on 24th, then let us wait. There are people who ordered a week, 2 weeks ago who have them, so how does that relate to those that preordered?

I know Apple has had some massive problems and delays, but that's directly translated to the customer base and ruined pre-launch.

It's pretty clear that the Sports models are shipping pretty much on or earlier than estimated.

Stainless ones don't seem to be shipping early. Maybe the stainless model have production issues.

The way I see it pre-ordering was a way to take orders before the watches were available, and nothing more.

When demand has settled down I imagine watches will generally be available when people want them but for the first wave it made sense to take orders before producing millions of watches.

Pre-ordrering was never a guarantee. You still can't buy in store. Its only the slower selling models like the 38mm Sports that are available quickly, like my wife (see post above). Although now on the site its showing 4-6 weeks I think.

Has anyone out there actually exceeded their latter shipping estimate day?

My feeling is that not many have. We are all just anxious because we want the bloody things!

There is a reason why they are still going for big premiums on eBay.

By the way, when my wife's model went from Processing to Preparing to ship, I didn't get am email. I just got an email once it had dispatched.

Hey ssaif    Did you order on the Apple website or in-store?   You're in the UK, right?   Whereabouts?   Keep us informed, yeah?

    @Rob

You were one of the lucky ones, huh?

You might be right there, Nick101 has several times mentioned the issues with the Taptic Engine from ONE of the 2 Apple Watch suppliers, I'm betting on it being whichever supplier is producing the Stainless Steel ones.
