May 3, 2015 7:31 AM in response to jimkrazby Ghostgirll,Bummer, I absolutely hate when that happens, could you maybe get someone to stay home for you whilst you have to nip out? It'll be **** every minute you're away from home if you can't, wondering if you're missing your delivery!? On the plus side at least you're ahead of schedule, lucky thing!

May 3, 2015 7:36 AM in response to jimkrazby ukflyer,It seems the 38mm is shipping faster than the 42mm models. Goodness only knows when I will get my preparing to ship email, but if it is too much longer, then I feel my enthusiasm for this product waning. Odd though that I got a (slightly) earlier delivery date than you, but you have been shipped sooner. I am sure Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave over yet another Apple fiasco.

May 3, 2015 9:04 AM in response to Skac999by Ghostgirll,First post on this thread from outside mainland UK so thank you for that, Skac999. So I guess you're still "Processing" like me, huh? ***** doesn't it?
Did you order via the Apple website, or through an Apple Store?
Will you keep us informed of any changes to your order status please, including and up to when you receive your Watch?
Cheers!

May 3, 2015 10:15 AM in response to Ghostgirllby josekimber1,I preordered my 38mm sport, white strap, on 11th May after trying one in the Apple store in Exeter. It had a delivery estimate of June, but then I got an e-mail on 23rd to say it had been despatched, and it arrived on 24th by UPS.
On the other hand my husband ordered his 42mm space grey Sport with black strap several days later, still with that June date, and no change yet.
So I guess that if you want a 38mm white one you might get it quickly, but if you ordered the space grey/black problem, it seems you will have to wait a while because they are probably the most popular ones.

May 3, 2015 10:33 AM in response to josekimber1by Ghostgirll,Yep, the space grey black band model seems really popular both here and in the U.S. There's a spreadsheet That shows who's ordered what, and how their order is currently looking, you can find it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/teX78N5Hs3Sj4xrqk11mE7Q/htmlview If you look down the list you can see which models are proving most popular. Hope you're enjoying you new toy, is your husband managing to hang in there ok knowing that you've already got yours? :) Thanks for posting!

May 3, 2015 1:48 PM in response to Ghostgirllby Prowlus,I'm beginning to wonder if its also the watchbands that affects the delivery date of the timepieces . I was 50/50 about bagging the sportband or the milanese loop . i chose the sportband because of it being available in 4-6 weeks as opposed to june at that time . Maybe apple are having problems with watchband manufacturing issues too

May 3, 2015 9:58 PM in response to Prowlusby Ghostgirll,Yeah I've been wondering about the straps too, according to the spreadsheet someone put up on Wordpress there have only been only a very few Bright Blue Leather Loops ordered pretty much worldwide, around 10 I think?!... So I guess my combo isn't proving all that popular. Does that mean there are plenty to spare?? Or alternatively it could mean that Apple aren't going to see it as terribly high on the priority list? Oh holy **** I hope it isn't the latter!!

May 4, 2015 1:36 AM in response to Ghostgirllby Prowlus,Well I know it'll be a long wait for a Milanese loop . I recently developed an allergic reaction to my white sportsband and have to send the included strap back . Apple care have promised me a Milanese loop instead but there may not be any available till June . I'm just lucky a friend who works at a computer exchange has loaned me a spare Milanese band until that time .

May 4, 2015 5:58 AM in response to Ghostgirllby Spacemanme,I guess I must be one of the lucky ones - I ordered on the 10th (pretty much as soon as the store opened) and I received mine on the 24th. Based in Northants.
mine is the 42mm stainless steel Watch with the Milanese loop. Initial impressions very favourable, really like the notifications on the watch - I look at my phone far less then before. I also used it in Lisbon last week to navigate a walking route to a restaurant. I worked fine though not the most direct route, but far less conspicuous in an unfamiliar city glancing at my wrist then walking around holing my phone in front of me.
Battery life really impressive (all things being relative). I normally put the watch on around 5am and by 10am when I take it off it is never below 50% charge. So a full day of use is possible.

May 4, 2015 6:47 AM in response to Spacemanmeby Ghostgirll,Excellent, Spaceman, thank you
Interesting to hear how you got on with navigation, I actually could have done with that on my way to the Apple Shop to view the Watches. My nearest Shop is 100 miles from home, and in a not entirely familiar city, so I WAS that person wandering around with my iPhone 3 inches from my face!! Also, I'm curious ...I heard that you can almost get away with not even glancing at the Watch face since it's able to direct you solely using it's Taptic Engine to notify you whether to turn left or right... did that work for you? And if so what exactly does it do, one Tap for left, two for right, or what??
-
May 4, 2015 6:57 AM in response to Ghostgirllby Spacemanme,To be honest I haven't sat down and worked it out. It does a different tap pattern for turn left and turn right - one is a sequence of taps whilst the other is a more continuous vibration but I find it easiest everytime it started vibrating to look at it and it will say 'Turn left in 50m' or whatever. I probably should learn what the different patterns mean but it does so many different taps for various notifications I have just gotten into the habit of looking whenever it goes off.

May 4, 2015 7:24 AM in response to Spacemanmeby Ghostgirll,Heavens, the more I learn about the Watch - and believe me, browsing the Threads on here for the past week or two I certainly feel that I've already picked up quite a bit of potentially useful knowledge -the harder it gets to sit on my hands waiting for my own to arrive.
