May 6, 2015 12:33 AM in response to Ghostgirllby B0nes1981,Bit miffed that they are dispatching the link bands before the watches have all been fulfilled

May 6, 2015 2:01 AM in response to B0nes1981by nick101,Different manufacturers. The watch problem is because one of the two manufacturers didn't get the haptic mechanism up to standard when they shifted to volume production. Not an issue that affects straps, and a different manufacturer.
Not that any of that makes you feel better

May 6, 2015 3:52 AM in response to nick101by jimkraz,This as you can see is about 4hrs after I removed from charge, still 92% charge left, my iPhone which I charged yesterday morning is still at 70% even though as you would expect I have been playing about and setting up my watch, all seems to work ok, I did most of my setting up on the iPhone, easier to see and I had to do that with my Pebble, which I passed on to my daughter, so far, all is good. May 6, 2015 4:06 AM in response to jimkrazby Ghostgirll,O yes, very nice! Annnnd... a typically mediocre 10 degrees in Scotland, huh? Did it come fully charged, Jim, or did you have to charge it immediately?

May 6, 2015 4:11 AM in response to Ghostgirllby jimkraz,It was at 80% out of the box, but put on my home-made watch stand overnight to fully charge.

May 6, 2015 6:05 AM in response to Ghostgirllby Rob Cumberland,I ordered just after 08:00 on 10 April when the Store update completed. My original delivery estimate was 12 May to 26 May. I got an email last week saying it was dispatched and would arrive on 1 May (Friday). Unfortunately a lorry must have broken down because it was immediately delayed until after the bank holiday and arrived on 5 May (fully charged)... still a week early! It's a 38mm Sport.

May 6, 2015 6:32 AM in response to Rob Cumberlandby Rob Cumberland,I've just been browsing this thread... interesting that some people got into The Apple Store at 08:03 on 10th April. I was refreshing from just before 08:00 and the Store didn't come up here until after 08:10!
I see you're interested in the exact specs: 38mm Space Grey Sport Black band.
(Incidentally, I've also read that a few people are finding they "react" to the watch or the strap. Obviously I can't comment on their experience but fitness tracking is a sweaty business (I row with mine and it really does trap perspiration). If you find this make sure you clean up afterwards... sweat left on the skin can cause quite severe irritation.)

Thats quite nifty, Jim when is your when is Apple one due to arrive? I take it there's no problem with shipping those out?
@Rob
Thank you, Rob, yes we're just trying to get a rough picture of how long orders are taking in the UK, as well as which Models and Watch/Strap combos are getting shipped out either on time or early. Originally I wanted to see if location in the UK made any difference as well, because I'm in Scotland myself, but really I don't think there's much milage in that line of enquiry, it seems to be more a case of which Models are most readily available.
It does begin to seem that those who ordered the 38mm as opposed to the 42mm Sport are getting lucky and despatching pretty early compared to their initial estimated dates, whereas, for example, those who ordered either the Link Bracelet or (like me) the Leather Loop (mine is Bright Blue) are still stuck in "Processing" stages. Interestingly those two Models are both at the more pricy any of the range, so maybe Apple made an intuitive leap there, thinking that because it's a brand new Product Range a lot of people might decide to initially go with the lower priced options, then choose to wait till later - and perhaps more "rounded out" - second-generation versions start to appear. Although I'm just speculating on that of course.
How are you enjoying it anyway? Any problems so far or is it all good for you?

May 6, 2015 7:15 AM in response to Ghostgirllby Rob Cumberland,It's mainly very good indeed.
I had read that set-up is arduous but it was a breeze. It came fully charged and after pairing with the iPhone (a strange process but easy) romped through in a few minutes. If you have a load of apps to download, or music, I imagine it could take a while but my music is on the phone and I'm not going to be playing games on the Watch.
There are some gremlins in the Apple Watch app: Passcode page is frozen with an endless spinning prog wheel, icons frequently show blank (which is a nightmare if you want to use the App Layout settings) but nothing fatal. You can set a passcode on the Watch so the only thing I'm missing is the Unlock With iPhone option.
Workout-wise the heart rate monitor is absolutely spot on with my chest band monitor and during a workout it responds really fast (at other times the heart rate Glance takes a few seconds to respond). As I mentioned, the Sport could really do with a mesh band of some kind, the plastic band is a real sweat trap. The part of Workouts that probably needs some attention is the Calories and so on. My rower measured 227 Cals and the Watch showed 163, so that's way off.
However, we're told it learns and gets more accurate, so maybe it's early days. I'm very happy with it though, it makes mail and messages easy to check and although I haven't worn a watch for years it's really comfortable. Now we just need a way to get the data out of Health and Fitness onto a Mac spreadsheet!
