How can I backup my iPhone with an unresponsive touchscreen?

I dropped my iPhone and the screen didn't crack but the touch screen is no longer responsive and neither is my home button. I tried to back it up on my macbook but to do that I must type in my passcode on my iPhone which isn't possible because of the unresponsive screen.

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

i Had the same problem with unresponsive screen, stuck on the password lock screen, and when i plug it to my pc the i tunes doesnt recognize the device and refuse to back it up.

However i solved it by going to itunes accounts menu and pressing on (authorization), it will ask you to provide apple account information, and once that's done your iphone is now recognized and you can back it up.

i Also used another softwares called iexplorer which allowed me to convert the encrypted iphone backup information to actual files (photos, videos....etc).

i Am glad I was able to solove this, as i spent two hours waiting in the apple store just for them to tell me they can only resortore the device and all my data would be gone.

hope this helps

It's too late for that. If you already had a sync relationship set up with your Mac (or a PC for that matter), then it wouldn't be asking for a passcode unless you had changed it since the last sync. Now that the screen is unresponsive, there is no way to back it up to a computer. If it was set up to back up to iCloud, then you will hopefully have that to fall back on. If it was not, you're going to lose your data if the device has to be replaced or restored.
