trouble with spinning color wheel

Still having the same issues with the spinning color wheel. Took my computer into Apple; seemed to "fix" it but as soon as I brought it back home and started using it again the same issue with the color wheel constantly spinning. Has ANYONE had success with fixing this problem?!!! I've tried everything suggested and like I said, took it into Apple and that hasn't helped.

I don't really know. Isn't that something that's needed? I will check the updates on Epson. Thanks!

When you download software from the Internet or install from a CD/DVD it is your responsibility to keep it up-to-date. If you get apps from the Mac App Store the update key on the store will help keep those apps up-to-date.

That is the first thing to check. Your system may also have some adware installed, if it does then locate and run AdWareMedic and run it.

If that does not find anything and the machine still has issues then it could be hardware related, such as a failing HD.

I finally resolved this issue. Took my computer into Apple the first time and hard drive test passed. Did a clean install of Yosemite and restored from my backup. Still had the same problem Finally took it back in to find out what's going on with it and this time the hard drive test failed. Had to repair the hard drive and do a clean install again and restore from backup. Computer running great now! Tech said it was like having a file cabinet and one of the file drawers is stuck and won't open. Cost me $185 plus tax but was worth it. No more spinning wheel.
