Footer Columns

I have opened a word document in pages and it has come up with just one column in the footer where I want the page numbers to appear but also the revision date. How can I add another column to the footer?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Thanks for responding. I've sort of fixed the problem by starting a new pages document and copying the text over. That way I get the standard 3 columns However wrt your suggestion, I can get tabs when the cursor is in the main body of the document but not when the cursor is in the header or footer. It would be good to be able to chose how many sections the headband footer have.
