'Midi time out' error message when trying to open Logic in 64 bit

(IMPORTANT: I am still using Logic Pro 9 and NOT Logic X)

Hello, I installed some new plug-ins and read that they will work better and use less CPU in 64-bit mode. I tried to open Logic in 64 bit mode and it showed me this message

After that I can't play anything on any project, no sound is coming out. I put it back in 32 bit and it's fine now but how do I fix this ? My logic crashes too much in 32-bit with the new plug-ins I got.

Any help?

Yet the error message states the issue is with Logic Pro X...... and not Logic Pro 9.....

So...

What external audio/midi hardware are you using?

Which OS X version are you running?

Is your external audio/midi hardware properly supported under that OS X version? (Check drivers etc)

Do you have Logic Pro X installed on your Mac?

The message I took from internet, I DO have Logic Pro 9 sorry about the confusion.

I am just using BOSE Speakers, no midi keyboard or controller.

OSX 10.9.3

iMac 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB Ram 1600 MHz DDR3

Nvidia Geforce GT 750M 1024

I have a legit bought version of Logic 9 (not cracked). I don't have Logic X installed at all. I bought this Logic version around 2011/2012...

I changed a lot of Macs since then and used time machine most of the time and directly had Logic ready to go after time machine was done. Maybe I missed some major updates?

What version of Logic Pro 9 are you using? With OS X 10.9.3 you should be using LP9.1.8

It sounds like you have an errant Midi driver installed... that doesn't work correctly in 64bit mode

Check your Midi Drivers folder for any drivers and list them here please...

<Name of your System Hard Drive>/Library/Audio/Midi Drivers

I only have 1 file in there called " RDUSB012AMidi.plugin "

Should I delete it?

I am indeed using LP9 9.1.8

Copy it to your desktop and then delete the one in the midi drivers folder...

Now restart your Mac... and then try launching LP9 again....

No risk it will mess with my Logic projects in any way moving that file ? Sorry i'm pointy but once I did something like that I had to reroot each project to some setting for them to work..

That is why I suggested you move it to the desktop.. so you can move it back if needed though, given its a Roland driver for an external MicroSampler..... it shouldn't cause any problems whatsoever....

Thanks man it worked !! Logic opened in 64 bit no problem !! Now I just hope it won't interfere with anything and my that my Logic will run smoother. Thanks again for your help 🙂

Excellent!

It seems that old midi driver doesn't work correctly under 64bit mode..

If you do end up needing it again, (As I said, it seems to be the driver for use with a Roland MicroSampler) there might be an update from Roland for it.... but as yet i cannot locate one...
