Trying to download TV shows from iCloud to my Macbook. Won't work, please help?

Mac Book OS X 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB 1067 MHZ DDR3 iTunes 12.1.2.27

My iMac has crashed so I am trying to download TV shows from iCloud. When I open iTunes store and sign in, I go to TV shows and it says iCloud will download when I go to iTunes store and sign in. Nothing happens when I do that. I have tried shutting down my Mac Book and starting from scratch. Nothing...

I am not computer literate and really need help.

None of my previous questions have ever been answered so I hope I will get some answer for this problem. Maybe I am doing this wrong, too.
