iPhoto slideshow not memorizing theme and music and limits music in my library

I'm disappointed that the new iPhoto does not save the theme and music of a slideshow for my specific iPhoto events. Each event is an experience that is unique and I like to show them off in different themes playing different music for each to distinguish the mood of that experience. I find myself having to always choose a theme and music every time I want to play my event in a slide show, even though I had already chosen one before. Also, some of the music in my library are DRM protected. I can understand not being able to play this music on third party apps, but this music I purchased on iTunes on my mac and I want to play them with my pictures on my iPhotos app. These are new issues with the new updated iPhotos for Yosemite. Never had this issue with the previous iPhoto apps.
