How do I transfer music from my iPod touch to my PC?

I have watched many online videos that all give the 'show hidden files-> control folder' method but when i open file explorer and click on my iPod, i only have one folder available. It says, 'internal storage', then 'DCIM' once i click on internal storage. Please help as i can't find an answer anywhere on the internet at all... thanks.

My iPod is 4th gen and my PC is windows 8.
