Time Machine won't backup

Good evening. Time Machine will not backup my laptop. It says that the backup disk is not available. I restarted my laptop after updating my laptop and it still doesn't work. I used to live with my grandmother from Monday to Friday and then go to my mother's place and I backed up my laptop to the Time Capsule from my grandmother. Now I connected to my mother's Time Capsule and it doesn't work. Can you please help me?

The "path" that Time Machine uses to back up is not the same when you back up from your grandmother's and your mother's, since they are two different networks.

When you are at your mother's and your Mac is connected there, you have to tell Time Machine how to find the Time Capsule on that network. So, you must click Select Disk and then choose the Time Capsule drive.......named "Data", unless someone has changed the name of the drive......click to highlight it and then click Use Disk.

That will tell Time Machine how to find the Time Capsule when your Mac is on your mother's network.

Yosemite sometimes has problems trying to find the Time Capsule on a network.

Please open up AirPort Utility on your Mac and check to see if the Mac can 'see" the Time Capsule, so you could Edit the settings if you wanted to.

Or, does a "ghost" of the Time Capsule appear......or.....does the Time Capsule not appear at all?
