Iphone 6 facebook messenger

Okay so Ive had the iphone 6 for a few days now and so far its been good but this morning when i took it off the charger i noticed the battery wwas draining really quick (near 20% in an hour) I went to my battery usage to see that messenger is taking 64%, Im guessing this is bad?? What can I do to fix this besides deleting the app, I use it most of the time the past few days and its percentage was never this high, help?!
