I updated my child's birthdate and verified my credit card info. Why is my child still listed as an adult in family share group?

Child accounts (i.e. for under 13s) can only be created via family sharing : Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids - Apple Support
The dates of birth on child accounts create via family sharing can't be changed, so presumably that account wasn't create via family sharing and is therefore an adult account.
