Q: Messages Not Opening Mac Air

I am running Yosemite 10.10.4     Messages is not responsive.  I try to open it and it bounces on the icon bar as thought it is going to open but never does.  Eventually it will say Messages (not responding).  This is really frustrating.

Notifications will tell me I received a new message, but the interface simply doesn't come on.  Help!

    Hi,

It seems there are two possibles for this.

    1) Antivirus ware from McAfee or Kaspersky that are now not allowing Messages since the OS  10.10.3 update.

    2) In the Contacts App > Preferences > Accounts there are two active sync methods.

    HI,

I see two posts in this tread.

However I am lined to show Unread Posts and this was marked as such.

That would normally mean a new Post or possibly a status change such as Helpful, Correct or Recommended flagging.

I would also gets an email if it were a new post but I have another thread in this Community which did not send me an email.

    Baffled at the moment.
