Macbook Pro 13" Keyboard Liquid Spill Damage

Sorry if my english is bad. 3 weeks ago my macbook was broke. the keyboard didn't works well because liquid spill into my keyboard. then I bring my macbook to the service center. after 5 days they told me that they cant fix my keyboard because the motherboard is taken damage by water. is that possible if the keyboard get damaged by liquid then it affect the motherboard?

can I fix it with replacing my keyboard only?
