If you’re using a version of Safari older than 5.1.10, run the Software Update pane of System Preferences and install all Safari and security updates.
If you’re using Safari 5.1.10, you need to upgrade the OS or switch to a product such as Firefox.

Thanks Neil!!! In fact I am using Safari 5.1.10 and OS X 10.6.8, but I do not want to upgrade the OS. I have not seen any good comment on OS X Yosemite. Is there another version of OS that you can recommend?
Thank you in advance!!
Yosemite works fine for me.
Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
Your Mac needs:
One option is to create a new partition (~30- 50 GB), install the new OS, and ‘test drive’ it. If you like/don’t like it it, you can then remove the partition. Do a backup before you do anything. By doing this, if you don’t like it you won’t have to go though the revert process.
Check to make sure your applications are compatible.
