That is called a Kernel Panic:

•Mac OS X: How to log a kernel panic - Apple Support

•Technical Note TN2063: Understanding and Debugging Kernel Panics:

•Resolving Kernel Panics - troubleshooting:

The issue may be due to failed or poor quality RAM memory chips if the

computer has been upgraded in this capacity lately; or it may reflect a

hardware problem, sometimes those can appear to cause a Kernel Panic.

Sometimes, software can be incompatible between different makers, so

that may also be contributory to a Panic.

To post a log report may help someone remotely diagnose or suggest a cause.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
