I have been having a lot a trouble with music cds in general for a while. When I pop in a cd to transfer to iTunes on my iMac using the included optical drive, it keeps ejecting the cd after trying to load for a while. Does not happen with DVDs; only with music cds. It is not particular to one cd. Any suggestions from anyone?

I believe optical drives use different lasers to read CDs and DVDs. It could be your CD laser has problems. You can try an optical drive cleaning disc (about $10 from computer or audio stores) but most optical drives only last about 5 years or so these days.

Never knew different lasers for each but makes sense considering data is different. My drive is about 7 years so your guess is probably spot on. Gonna be getting a new super drive I guess. Thanks for your help
