if I have to call the apple japan to solve it? do you think there is some resistance on the part of Apple to do the unlock for 2 iphones
The last time I checked carriers in Japan refuse to unload iPhones.
Apple does not initiate unlocking of iPhones at all.
ONLY the carrier to which they are locked can do that and Japanese carriers may not unlock at all. Call the carrier to which it is locked and ask them.
Softbank will now unlock phones under certain circumstances.
