MacBook Pro start up issue

My Mac is using OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.3. When I start up, I heard the sound, but the screen is black,I waited for almost a minute, nothing shows. I have to hit power up button 3 times to get the apple icon show up.

Sometimes, even after the apple icon showed up, and login screen showed up, then after I typed in the password, the screen become black again. And I had to hit power up button again.

The above two issues had been around for a while now.

Please help, and Thank you in advance.

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Test after each one. Back up all data before making any changes.

1. Set the default startup disk.

2. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up. If there's no change, reconnect them

3. Reset the System Management Controller.

4. Reset the PRAM.

5. Reset the printing system.
