Does the apple watch work with the Polar Bluetooth Smart stride sensor?

I want to track accurate distance when running on a treadmill and would like to use the Polar Bluetooth Smart stride sensor.

Might be worth an email to Polar to ask them - I haven't seen anything anywhere either way
