Q: itunes 12 peer to peer airplay not working

Peer to peer airplay using my Apple TV A1469 works just fine from my iPhone 6Plus, and works great as a screen mirroring from my Macbook Pro (Mid 2012 Yosemite OS X 10.10.3), but iTunes 12 will not airplay my downloaded videos over peer to peer airplay. Is this expected?

My Setup:

Apple TV: A1469 latest Apple TV hardware latest update as of today (5/3/2015). Wifi connected to my home network.

iPhone 6 Plus: Latest OS as of today, Wifi on, but not connected to any networks. I can airplay using peer to peer successfully with a movie I have downloaded to the phone.

Macbook Pro: Mid 2012 OS X 10.10.3, iTunes 12.1.2.27.

I know I should just connect my Macbook to my home WiFi, and if I do then it works fine. I am trying to get the peer to peer working though to prepare for using it at a hotel where I have no control over the wifi.

Peer to peer AirPlay requires Bluetooth. Have you turned Bluetooth on on your Mac?

Actually, I don't believe peer to peer AirPlay can be done to/from a Mac at all. See:

Yes, bluetooth is enabled. What is weird is I can do screen mirroring just fine from the mac using peer to peer, but iTunes itself doesn't support video playback over peer to peer.

How can you do peer to peer airplay from macbook..? I have a retina macbook pro late 2013 and I can't do peer to peer airplay..?
