can i recover lost 'notes'?

i finally updated to the newest ios. My ipad went into a forced recovery - i lost everything. the only things i care about are 2 notes where i kept track of all of both of my babies 'firsts' - is there ANY way to get these back? i am pretty sure there was no back up for them in icloud the only thing i seem to be able to get from icloud are my pictures.

Sadly, I don't think there is anything you can do. For future reference, turn Notes on in iCloud so that you can access them from a PC or Mac via web browser & they won't be lost if something happens to your iPad or computer. If you don't want to use iCloud, then you can always email important Notes to yourself from the options within the app.
