Snapseed edited photos on iPhone

I'm using a 5S and use Snapseed to edit photos. The edited photos show in the camera roll, but when I connect the phone to my Macbook Pro, they are NOT there when opening iPhoto and connecting to the iPhone. It appears that this discussion has appeared before, but I've not seen a solution to this. Is this a known bug or is there a workaround?
