Q: Trying to accept Family Sharing invitation, get "Failed Accepting Invitation" message, ipad air 2.

iPad Air 2, IOS 8.3

Something happened, not sure what.  I was a part of a Family Share...  All was fine, but then all of a sudden, I couldn't see the books that were bought on iBooks and shared with the family.

So, the Family Sharing organizer removed me and then reinvited my AppleID.

I tried to accept the invite.  Got to the "Share your location" or "Not now" choice, when selecting either, a dialog box pops up showing "failed accepting invitation"

Have no idea what's up.  I tried signing out of the iCloud account and then signing in again.  Same result.

The one notable item is that my iCloud AppleID is different than the AppleID used for iTunes and Store.  But again, this was working before.  It just got screwed up when I was trying to fix the other problem of not being able to see shared purchased books.

Anyone else see this before?  Any ideas on how to fix?  Thanks!

I'm having this exact same problem. Same situition. My dad had his iPhone 6+ and I had my iPhone 5s. I tried to do everything you did, and at the location choice, "failed accepting invitation." I've not had any luck, and am trying to find someone who knows how to fix it! If you've figured it out, let me know. Thanks!

I Solved this moments after posting. If you were invited and our account is say Johnny.appleseed@icloud.com, you have to set up iTunes with family sharing as Johnny.appleseed@iCloud.com. After everything is setup, you can switch the iTunes accounts without any problem in the family settings on your own iPhone.

Hi!  I tried your solution and it worked...sort of.  After changing the iTunes account to be the same as the iCloud account, I was able to accept the invitation to the family sharing.  Then I changed the iTunes account back to the original iTunes account that we use to make purchases.  And the iPad was still a part of the family share.  Yeah!   However, I couldn't sync any of the books that was purchased as a part of the Family share...boo.  Had to change my iTunes account to be the same as the iCloud account before it would do so.

May have to live in this mode...  Anyhow, thanks for the help!  Nice to have this family sharing thing, but wish it could be alot cleaner/easier than it is currently is to deal with.
