Very slow and lots of disk activity
Hi,
recently my Macbook started to be somewhat slow. Its been running since a few years so I thought it might be a good idea to re-install from scratch.
On the Mackbook I got the optical drive replaced by a SSD and build it as a fusion drive.
The Yosemite reinstall failed due to disk issues. I had to break the fusion drive to verify and repair the two disk individually but after this and the re-build of the fusion drive the installation went without issues.
I did a clean install, just reloaded data. All Apps I installed manually.
the result was more then disappointing. The Mac is running slower then ever and I'm recognizing lots of disk activity even for minor tasks like displaying a few pictures. It is basically so slow now that you can't really work.
Another check on the disk was clean, without errors. Also the Apple Hardware test is without results. I tried another install over the runing yosemete but as expected this also did not change anything.
Next I could do is to start again completely from scratch but wanted to get your advice before doing so. Any ideas?
Here my configuration:
The Fusion drive:
