Does 'erase all content and settings' delete everything?

iPhone 5s. iOS 8.3.

I have read that call logs, contacts, text messages, images and messages from chat applications, are stored locally on the device, can often be recovered by special softwares , even after they are 'deleted'. Is this still the case using the erase all content and settings option?

(not being used for any bad, just a bit paranoid.)

Thanks for all the help in advance

With enough time and money, yes, some things could probably be recovered. However, do you think it likely that the NSA or someone with equivalent resources is likely to try to get information off of your phone?

Make sure your phone is passcode protected. Don't share your Apple ID creditials with anyone (spouse, partner, kids, get them their own and use Family Sharing). Don't download applications from anywere but the App Store. Don't jailbrake your phone. You will be fine.

Best of luck
