I have a problem of icons disappearing from dashboard in my Macbook Pro with Yosemite.
I have restart computer to get them back.
Is there any setting available to get them back with our restarting computer?
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
Try starting your computer in Safe Mode
Thanks for your prompt reply. Like I said, if I restart my computer, the icons are displayed. I guess starting in Safe Mode is just about the same as restarting!!

No. It's not the same. While starting in Safe Mode some maintenance tasks are performed. See What is Safe Mode for more info.
