Q: Alesis DM Lite - hihat always open

Hi!

I have purchased Alesis DM Lite MIDI drum kit.

It works just fine in Logic and Garageband with one MAJOR exception - I'm unable to play closed hihat (with Continuous pedal pressed). It always plays open hihat. Just pressing the pedal without hitting the hihat, there IS a closed hihat sound being played. So:

-depressed pedal + hihat = open hihat playing

-pedal not depressed+hihat = open hihat playing

-pedal depressed+not hitting hihat=closed hihat playing

EDIT: this is the case in Ableton Live too. So it doesn't seem to be related just to Logic or Garage Band.

Any clues?
