iBooks opens automatically. How to disable it ?

Each time that I open my computer, iBooks (1.1.1) always pops up !
But I can't find a way to make it stop.

There are no setting in iBooks that allows it to open by itself when I launch my MacBook Pro.
Does anyone have a solution ?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

One of your login items may be causing the problem. Select the Login Items tab in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences. Delete any items that you don't need. If you're not sure which ones to delete, double-click each to test it.

The posted solution no longer works as of June 2017. Now there is no Login item called iBooks on my Mac, and I certainly never set iBooks to open automatically.

It seems to have started with the latest Apple software update. I'm not sure, but it may be prompted by opening Safari and going to the Amazon site, which suggests it may be part of the endless Amazon/Apple territorial p*ssing contest.

But it sure is annoying, and I hope someone knows how to turn it off.
