When I hit a key on my controller it changes patch :/

I have two controller keyboards set up to run different sounds on Mainstage, when I hit the keys on my Sythstation 25 controller it changes patch to the first patch on the list :/ has anyone got any ideas how I might remedy this? I looked through assignments and there isn't anything strange there :/
