this device is no longer connected. I updated Itunes and ran into this problem. I have an MacBook Air with OSX 10.10.3

When I connect my ipad to try to download photos from my computer to the ipad using iTunes, I keep getting this message "this device is no longer connected". This happened after I updated Itunes and ran into this problem. I have an MacBook Air with OSX 10.10.3.

VERY irritating. Please help
