I have a Mac with OS X 10.5.8 and Safari Browser is 5.0.6 and Yahoo does no support my browser anymore. My problem is I cannot upgrade to OSX 10.6 because the most important software program in my Mac will not work with 10.6 or newer OSX. I have to stick with OSX 10.5.8 no matter what. I tried Firefox, Google Chrome and nothings works because all of these browsers will require a newer version of the OSX.

UPGRADING THE OSX IS NOT AN OPTION because of one software that will only work with 10.5.8.

I understand Apple has to make money producing new OSX all the time but Apple has to support our old Mac too! We can't just keep buying new computers!

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Is this an Intel iMac?

If so might try FF16...

If you need to reinstall Firefox 16 on your Intel Mac, you can download it from this link:

Hi BDAqua,

The pop-up comes out just right below the bookmark bar. There are two plug-ins it wants to upgrade namely: Adobe Flash Player and Quicktime. However, I tried to upgrade but again I cannot because these new upgrades are not supported by my Mac. I'll try that User Agent swatter that you recommended.😎 Thanks.

There might be a workaround for Flash anyway...

The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a leter version installed.

Might be later ones around also... saw 11.3 I think.

(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)

Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

I think there are later parches around now. 🙂
