Mac Mail - Message Body Not Displayed

Been having a problem as of late with the Mac Mail app,

I cant seem to view message bodies and can only see the sender/subject/ect. but no message body.

When I load the message on my phone or icloud.com it e-mail displays fine.

I have tried rebuilding the mailbox twice already but it had no effect.

Any Help?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Okaaay!

Seems it was me all along, and nothing to do with the problem(s) noted in this thread. When I got the Gmail security alert today, I seem to have told Google to block access from 'less secure apps' - forgot I did that. In checking Google security settings now, I noted that switch was set and so I unset it to allow 'less secure apps' access. Mail now working fine. So Google classifies Apple Mail app as a 'less secure app'!! Which means I have to allow access to ALL 'less secure apps' in order to use Apple Mail app (which I mainly use to ensure I have an offline copy / backup of all my mail and am not dependent solely on Gmail.)

Off to have a word with Google re this. Apologies for distraction from the topic at hand, but others may wish to note this, re use of Gmail and Apple Mail.

Same issue, it comes and it goes. I shut down Mail and restart it and maybe the next time the content will appear. I've done as suggested at the top of this thread and it worked, for a while, probably because I had restarted Mail to accomplish it. But it did not solve the underlying issue which has been under Yosemite and now El Capitan.

Edit-changed "intent" to "content", which is what I had typed, but self-correct decided to change to another word entirely.

I'm experiencing the same problem on OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 and Mail 9.1. I think it started after upgrading to El Capitan and even the latest Mail update didn't change anything.

When closing and opening Mail again, it's working for a while, but not long. I have to close and re-open Mail several times a day...

I've tried resetting PRAM yesterday, but that didn't help.

I'm having the same issues. Mail body that was previously downloaded sometimes is not shown (only a blank space underneath the message header info).

Sometimes if a message doesn't show, I can go to another message and then back to the one that didn't show, and it will show correctly, or by double clicking the message and opening it in a new window.

I'm running El Capitan 10.11.1 and Mail 9.1 (3096.5). 2 mail accounts, both are Gmail and set up to use IMAP.

I suspect it is an application performance issue, since restarting the application seems to solve the problem temporarily (clearing memory/cache?), and thereafter the problems start occurring more and more frequently through the day eventually becoming almost unusable. Might be related to the fact that gmail accounts usually have very large mailboxes (i.e: all mail) and aren't used to deleting mails (such is my case) and sometimes have several labels/folders which seem to complicate the local mailbox size and structure.

I have this problem also (10.11.1). It seems to be something to do with indexing or perhaps the PDF viewer? Something like once the daemon to load HTML emails crashes it can't start again until you restart the Mail app. Notice also Mail crashes when you paste a PDF into a mail after you've already started writing the message (but not if you start a new message with the PDF and then write the email). Flaky as h.e.l.l. [was starred out. Is **** really offensive?]. Thanks Apple.

+1... this is driving me nuts. Things settle out over time but when I receive new emails I have to play games to see a lot of them. Dragging the message to the desktop and then opening it sometimes allows me to view the message body quicker (but not always). Not sure if it is Mail alone or interaction with Office 365 servers. Messages view fine on all iOS devices, the Office 365 web browser and Outlook (running on Parallels in Windows). I don't understand why things that have worked now are broken. Started a few updates ago for me.
