imessages from my spouse are showing up as being from myself

My wife and I got new iphones yesterday. We have family sharing but separate apple IDs. Now, when my wife sends me an imessage, it shows up as being from me instead of from her. I have checked the contacts to make sure her number is listed under her name and it is. She checked the "about" section of her phone to make sure it has her name and not mine. This just started when we got the new phones. Has anyone had this issue or have an idea of what could be causing it?
