Issue with linked contacts with picture

I had two contacts linked to each other in my Phonebook. one had a picture and the other didnot. Since both were linked I didnot realize the contact picture were shared by both the contacts. Now I unlinked the contacts, even then the picture is getting copied to both and showing up in both the contacts. how do I fix it or its a apple bug?

I tried with this with 2 sets of new contacts, and the contact without picture is linked to the same image as in first contact
