My son's father just bought him an iPad but when we FaceTime it shows his number. We also get all his messages and he's able to see the pictures we take. i have already signed into my son's apple account in the settings but still having the same problem.

Where in Settings? You need to change the Apple ID in iCloud, Messages, FaceTime and iTunes and App Store.
