How do I activate an esn clean unlocked iPhone 5c?

I purchased it from a hopefully reliable seller on ebay, and it has been shipped. It was advertised as an ESN clean unlocked Verizon iphone 5c. I have a 4s now. I had been looking only at factory unlocked, so my hope is that this is ok. It has a 14 day return on it. I'm not sure if the description means it has a sim card. I plan to take it to Verizon to activate it and transfer my info from the 4s. Is an ESN clean unlocked usually reliable? I plan to get the ESN (IMEI) # from it when it arrives to check it out with Verizon.
If it is a Verizon phone and has a clean ESN you should have no trouble activating it with Verizon. You will need a nanoSIM from them to use their LTE network and they will need to activate it for you. I would have isn't on the numbers prior to purchasing it.
