Moving Data from I Cloud to other Storage

How do I move Data out of ICloud to free up space. Do not want to buy more storage. The total unintutive experience had to restart 5 times to sign out. Can not use Mac Book as promised.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), 16 g Memory
