Why does iTunes show more storage available than my iPhone says it has through Settings -> General -> Usage?

iPhone 5s - iOS 8.3

iTunes - 12.0.01.26

New iPhone.

New computer.

My iTunes shows 12 GB free on my iPhone 5s.

My iPhone says 177 MB when viewing through Settings -> General -> Usage. I can't find any official fix from Apple on the internet. Please help!!

Transferred my old library to iTunes but lost my .xml file.

So i had to readd songs manually.

Now when I plug my iPhone into iTunes it says I have 11 GB of free space, but my iPhone says only 177 MB (Settings -> General -> Usage).

I narrowed down that the music on my iPhone is 14 GB but only showing 3 GB through iTunes.

Can't find a solution online.

Help please.
