iOS changing server name

Hello all

Very strange problem. iOS 8.3 and on-premises Exchange 2010.

During the iOS 8.3 Add E-mail wizard and selecting Exchange 2010, providing all the proper information, the wizard ends with all Green check mails. However when I go into the e-mail app, I receive an error of Cannot Get Mail and The connection to the server failed.

When I go back into Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > My Work Exchange > Account > Server I noticed that the server name changed.

It should be: mail.domainsomething.com (for example) as I had typed it into the wizard but now it is mail.domain.com instead of mail.domainsomething.com

Any ideas as to why iOS is truncating my domain name? And yes my domain name is valid because Android devices can connect.
