Launching iBooks brings up blank screen

Beginning this morning, clicking on the iBooks icon brings up a blank screen, which eventually closes and goes back to the home screen. I have tried both soft and hard reboots with no success. Everything else seems to be working fine. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

On my iPad 2 it takes about 10 seconds to load the library but it does load. Have you tried signing out of iTunes then signing back in? It might be a connection issue with the iTunes Store.

If you haven't already, update to the latest iOS

Also you could try a general reset to see if that resolves your issue:

Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. You won't lose any data but will have to log back into your wifi network(s)
